Welcome to TUFI’s new delegation blog!
You will now be able to follow us as we take a delegation of senior trade unionists around Israel and Palestine from 1-6 November 2009.
The trip will involve a full itinerary of briefings with sister unions, factory visits, a tour of the security fence/wall, and meetings with the Histadrut, the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions(PGFTU), government officials, ministers and others.
A trade union delegate will be posting on this blog each day, giving you an insight into their experiences and opinions. And we will also be posting photos and videos as the delegation progresses.
You will also be able to follow the TUFI delegation on the road with Twitter, and keep up-to-date with our RSS feed.
We look forward to reading your comments!
Happy to see you are going to visit both Israeli and Palestinian trade unionists and promoting co-operation. Good luck with the delegation. I will definitely be following your journey!

Nosia Tova – Good Journey wellies needed as rain has finally arrived!!
Hope you come back with constructive ideas to promote solidarity between workers on both sides of the green line.
The Histadrut can lead the way in the peace process by standing firmly in support of the PGFTU…and vice-versa.
Dear colleagues,
Congratulations on this initiative of yours. I hope that all of your meetings are fruitful and provide a solid basis for further discussions and collaboration between colleagues in both countries for the sake of strengthening the tradeunionism and the relationship between the two countries.
Long live the trade unionism, long live your genuine efforts to bring the best possible results for both countries, Israel and Palestine, Palestine and Israel.
Yours sincerely,
Charalampos Xekoukoulotakis,
International Officer, UNISON’s branch at the University of Brighton & Publisher of ‘The International Trade-Unionist’ journal
Thank you for being fair and open-minded – not what I expected from Brit trade-unionists. I hope your more radical colleages back home dont run around saying you have been brainwashed by the Israeli mind rays or paid-off by neocons or something.
